Nuasin
A new and inspiring identity for the Bronx-based K–12 charter school.
Located in the Highbridge neighborhood of the Bronx, Nuasin Next Generation focuses on setting up students for success beyond high school, in college, careers, and life. Their deep ties to the local community urged us to explore a visual concept that was born out of the High Bridge itself.

A Visual Language for the Land Between
According to the New York City Parks Department, the Native Americans who lived in modern-day Highbridge called it “Nuasin,” meaning “the land between.” In addition to this moniker, the Nuasin Next Generation visual identity is rooted in the structural nuances of the High Bridge, and the school's mission to "build futures" for scholars.

Nuasin Building blocks.
The building blocks at the core of visual identity are directly inspired by the shapes that result from High Bridge's construction. They are designed to be combined in virtually endless ways to create unique patterns, even when composed at random. The entire series of building blocks come in distinct color palettes, allowing the school administration to assign color schemes to different departments and grade levels.
Consistent points of intersection allow for seamless patterns.
